16 Jun How To Embed Google Maps Street View Into Your Website
Embedding a Google Maps Street View Virtual Tour is simple, just follow these steps…
Step 1
Open your Street View tour from our link, or from the ‘See Inside’ tab in Google Search.
Step 2
You may want to click ‘hide imagery’ (bottom right) at this point to hide the previews of still images that are visible at the bottom of the tour.
Navigate through your tour and find the position and orientation where you would like your embedded tour to start before the next step. You can choose any point you like. This is great if you want to show of different areas of your business on different web pages.
Step 3
You will see a question mark and a cog icon at the bottom-right of the main window, click the cog and then click ‘Share or embed’. The ‘Share’ tab is highlighted by default, with the option to choose a short link.
Click ’embed image’ and a preview window will pop up, there is a dropdown (top left of preview window) where you can select the size of your embedded tour – you can also select ‘custom’ if you would like to choose specific dimensions dependant on the layout of your website.
The ‘iframe’ code will update in the text field as you make changes to the size you want, copy this ‘iframe’ code.
Step 4
Paste this embedding code into the html of web page, or blog post post, on your website where you’d like your virtual tour to appear, then simply save or upload this page to your website.
Step 5
Now just go to your website and check that your virtual tour has been added where you expected at the size you expected. Give yourself a pat on the back and then email all your friends and tell them to check out your tour!
